Easter Sunday is this weekend, April 12th, and the Orthodox church's Easter Sunday (often called Pascha) is next Sunday, April 19th. That means there is going to be a lot of good food on tables this week and next, and we're curious: what are your very favorite Easter recipes?
Easter is not as big of a food holiday in the USA as it is in other countries, where it often dwarfs Christmas as the predominant holiday on the church calendar. Personally, I adore Easter foods even more than Christmas foods, and I look forward all year to my Eastern European family's recipes for houska, a sweet eggy bread similar to challah, the egg salads, the beet salads, roast lamb with homemade horseradish sauce, and a creamy sweet cheese dessert sometimes called Russian Ice Cream. I put cherries and kirsch in mine!
