Pastry Workshop: This Sunday bunches of bakers are getting together for a series of pastry workshops. Each workshop is $50, 11/22 at The French Culinary Institute, 462 Broadway at Grand St.

The Gourmet Institute: Gourmet Magazine's weekend-long event starts tomorrow at the Millenium Broadway Hotel. The cost is $1,350 for the weekend(!).
