Fall may be taking hold here in Chicago, but that doesn't mean an end to weekend outdoor festivals. This Saturday, celebrate the apple harvest with the Lincoln Square Apple Fest in Giddings Plaza. The annual family friendly event celebrates the apple – particularly its pastry incarnations – with a bake-off, pie eating contest an pie baking class.

2:30 p.m. Free apple pie baking demonstration at The Chopping Block
3:15 p.m. Announcement of apple pie bake-off winner
4:45 p.m. Apple pie eating contest
