On the weekends, breakfast is one of our favorite meals. Bagels, french toast, eggs, bacon, homefries- we love all breakfast foods equally! But in the reality of our weekday lives, breakfast usually becomes something eaten on the fly as we're rushing about getting the day started. Do you eat breakfast during the week?
We were definitely raised with the belief that breakfast is what gets the day started off right. It's very rare that we don't eat something in the mornings, even if it's just a quick slice of bread with jam on our way out the door.
Writing this now, we also realized that it's the one meal of the day that we eat while doing other things. For lunch and dinner, we stop, walk away from the computer, and take a real break while we eat. But first thing in the morning, all we want to do is get moving.
We know a lot of people who just skip breakfast entirely and don't sit down to a real meal until lunchtime. This seems to suit their lifestyle just fine!
What's your weekday breakfast routine?

Always always always. I find a simple breakfast sandwich - a sliced hard-boiled egg with whole wheat bread and salsa - is delicious and filling, and I clock it at under 200 calories. It keeps me going until lunch with no snacking!
I keep trying to get back in the breakfast habit, esp. now when I'm trying to loose a few pounds, but it's such a hassle!
I love weekend breakfasts, with a pot of french press and a good book to linger over, but weekdays are miserable. I don't like anything sweet in the morning, and so much of the easy grab-and-go stuff leans to the sweet side (granola bars, yogurt-n-fruit, muffins, etc).
Breakfast sandwiches are great, but I find that they add too much time to my morning routine -- though I've not tried msingerman's idea; going with hardboiled egg, instead of trying to cook one fresh each morning might work well. I would love theKitchn forever if you'd post some easy *savory* breakfasts -- especially if they could be prepared on the weekend.
During the week, i have an apple every morning during the coffee break at work. That is all i need until lunch.
On weekends though i get up later and prepare a more elaborate breakfast : freshly squeezed orange juice, a "tresse", (sorry i have no idea how to translate that, but it's kind of a sunday-breakfast-bread), some (homemade by friends ) jam or marmelade, a big cup of café au lait and, most important: no stress !
Always! Usually it's oatmeal. Sometimes it's eggs or an egg sandwich. I always want a hot breakfast, though...even in the hottest months of summer.
I'm lucky, though, in that I teach (college) and so don't have to get out the door at a very early hour. I can linger a bit in the morning.
I will always always make sure I get up early enough to get some breakfast-or just get where I'm going late! I feel dizzy and can't think straight until I've had it.
I alternate between toast, porridge and baked eggs, which are the easiest eggs for the morning because you can just shove them in the oven and go and get dressed while they cook (i grease the ramekin and put the egg in with parmesan on top the night before-takes one minute anyway).
Another thing to do is cook a big batch of porridge, then you only need to warm a bowl through each day. My gran used to put it in the slow-cooker overnight so it was hot and ready the morning after, and everyone could just help themselves when they got up.
I always have breakfast-- but I only feel like eating after I've been up and drinking coffee for 2 hours or so. No rolling out of bed and eating for me!
If I'm on campus I'll eat exactly what's in the picture-- a clif bar and a banana or apple.
At home I'll have cereal (I love Trader Joe's Raisin Bran) or an English muffin with peanut butter.
I second what mlleErica said...I too hate sweets in the morning, which rules out most quick things. I have class at 8 everyday and rarely eat until lunch. Sometimes even until dinner. Any fast savory ideas would be more than appreciated.
I can't imagine going without breakfast! I always have some granola with either soy milk or plain yoghurt at my desk while I'm checking emails, on work days. On weekends I take my time and prepare a nice breakfast spread even if it's just for me, some eggs, olives, tomatoes, sometimes a fresh fruit, whole wheat bread and either juice or tea.
My breakfast is usually a few slices of buttered toast (maybe with jam if I'm feeling indulgent), some plain yogurt sweetened with honey and a touch of cardamom & vanilla, and (of course) a coffee - always freshly ground.
If I have a bit of time I'll prepare some steel-cut oats with top-quality maple syrup (I do live in Quebec), a dash of milk and some cinnamon.
breakfast is an everyday thing for us. wake up, put the kettle on for coffee, and i make some combination of grits, eggs, oatmeal, and related fixings before taking the girls out for a walk.
i wake up an hour before i have to be out the door so i've got plenty of time to make breakfast. i also don't do morning showers and i don't have a lot of prep to do on myself. i can brush my teeth, demuss the hair, and dress inside of five minutes.
I always eat breakfast. I tend to prefer savory breakfasts, too (though I recently ended a multi-year love affair with steel cut oatmeal, prepared sweet. Go figure.)
My current go-to quick savory breakfast is sausage & rice. On weekends, I cook up a pound of sausage as a loose crumble, and also cook about a cup (dry) of rice. Mix them together and store. (I put half in a plastic container in the freezer for the end of the week and half straight in the fridge.)
In the mornings, I pull out a serving into a bowl, heat it in the microwave, and eat it with a dollop of unflavored yogurt. It isn't as filling as my oatmeal used to be (nothing is), but it is plenty fast and easy.
Typical breakfast is crock pot oatmeal. We make it and it lasts us 2 days (4 breakfasts). It's really easy- 1 cup steel cut oats, 1 cup of milk (skim), 4 cups water, 1/4 cup brown sugar splenda blend. Cook on low all night. We keep the leftover in the fridge and reheat the next day. I add low sugar syrum and craisins (or fresh berries in summer) to mine.
I also add a few hard boiled egg whites when we ahve them.
Other days, I'll prepare a whole bunch of scrambled egg sandwiches on Sunday and just wrap them in tin foil. Then I stick them in the toaster oven while I'm getting dressed- about 15 minutes does the trick.
My recipe:
scrambled eggs (I use egg beaters typically)
some turkey bacon
cheese of your choosing.
I use pepperidge farm sandwich thins.
They even freeze well. They're a perfect start to the day.
Coffee has to wait until i'm in the office typically unless I grab a cup on way back from run.
If I'm in a rush, a cliff bar and maybe a piece of fruit outside the office.
I always eat breakfast.. usually a bowl of bran cereal with dried fruit, some OJ, and a couple cups of coffee. I do typically eat weekday breakfast in front of the computer, checking email, weather, news, etc.
A cup of coffee and peanut butter crackers that I keep in my drawer at work. 215 calories if I add one creamer.
i eat breakfast every day and im cranky without it -- i usually do olain greek yogurt with a bit of jam and honey mixed in at my apartment while i watch tv (usually saved by the bell, haha)
then at around 11 or so i have a granola bar at work.
lunch at 2, dinner at 630-7ish when the dude and i get home from work and i finally have time to relax and cook.
I'm a big believer in hot breakfasts, like laetitiae. Generally instant oatmeal (especially Trader Joe's whole-grain cranberry oatmeal), or lately, my own homemade cranberry-cherry oatmeal. I mixed up a huge batch of oats with fruit in the crock pot a few weeks ago, scooped it out into individual servings, froze these lumps, and now store them in big bags in the freezer. I chuck one lump into a bowl in the morning, microwave for 2-3 min while I make coffee, and sit down at the laptop for a hot breakfast and a quick spin through my RSS feed.
I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mom so my mornings are very hectic. We usually eat a hot breakfast every morning. My favorite hot "to-go" breakfast I make for my husband is breakfast burritos.
I scramble up eggs with red peppers and scallions. Cook either bacon, sausage, or ham, whatever we have on hand. Toss the meat with the eggs, spoon a little on a small flour tortilla, sprinkle on some cheese, and wrap it up. I individually wrap each burrito in plastic wrap, put into a zip top bag, and stick in the freezer. In the morning I will grab one out and stick it in the microwave (with plastic wrap on) for about 2 minutes. Remove plastic wrap and enjoy!
This is a great way to use up left over veggies. My husband likes red pepper, I enjoy roasted asparagus, or zucchini in mine.
I meant my mornings aren't very hectic :)
Savory, quick breakfast idea - crustless mini quiches. They sound much more complicated than they actually are. Basically combine eggs (or egg substitute) with shredded cheese, sauteed veggies (spinach, onions, peppers...) and some chopped cooked ham, bacon or sausage (if you eat meat). Pour the mixture into those nifty silicone muffin cups and bake until firm. They should pop out easy and can be stored in the fridge. Make enough for the week and simply microwave for 30 seconds to warm through each morning.
Seedy bread with various nut butters, jam or honey, coffee.
Like most of you I always eat breakfast. Even if I wake up 5 minutes before class I'll grab a cliff bar to eat on the way.
At school it's usually fruit and a PB&J, PB and banana or oatmeal, but on weekends I'll make bacon, eggs and home-fries or pancakes.
When I'm home for the summer I eat a lot of granola or muesli with plain non-fat yogurt and fresh fruit and berries.
A cup of tea is standard.
i've always considered our morning breakfasts on the quickie side, but seem rather indulgent in comparison to other posts.
our weekdays breakfasts are a rotation of a few simple favorites: yogurt & granola with some fruit, cereal & milk with fruit, smoothie & half bagel, quickie egg & cheese tacos with juice, grapefruits & half muffin. coffee at home too.
we have about 1 hour from wake-up to out-the-door and i want to say that we spend about 30 minutes of it dealing with our food and eating it. my daughter and i will start, husband will join to finish with her while i get lunches started and check email (of course!). our daughter sits for a solid 20-25 minutes to eat and we kind of whiz in and out and around her munching and taking bits in between it all. coffees get packed in to-go mugs and we head out the door.
I don't know how people go without breakfast! Often it's what motivates me to get out of bed. :) Unlike many others here, I pretty much always want something sweet in the morning. Weekends we definitely do something hearty and homemade--pancakes (our favorite lately is pumpkin!), bacon and eggs, homemade muffins, scones, or biscuits, and always fresh coffee. On weekdays I often just have a bowl (or 2) of cold cereal, and my husband often grabs something on the way to the office (I work at home). But at least a couple weekday mornings we try to sit down to breakfast together--oatmeal, leftover weekend baked goods, or what I call "French breakfast," which is cafe au lait and fresh bread with butter and jam.
I can't go without breakfast! Recently, I have been making a big pot of oatmeal on Sunday night and portioning it out for the upcoming week. In the morning, I toss it in the microwave with a splash of skim milk and then add half of a mashed up banana, vanilla, cinnamon, cranberries, and a big spoon of almond butter.
If I'm in a rush though, and Ezekiel English muffin is always a quick option! I add some butter on indulgent mornings, or almond butter with honey and banana when I need the extra energy.
And coffee. Always coffee.
I always eat breakfast, usually at work. Either rice cakes with peanut butter or yogurt with a little jam or both, coffee and a lot of water. On days when I'm out of rice cakes, I usually eat the peanut butter straight from the jar. Because I'm weird like that.
Always, I am super grumpy if I don't. I am lucky though in that my work doesn't mind if we eat at our desks. I usually bring a couple pieces of fruit, and then make either oatmeal or once or twice a month, a bagel with hummus. And always tea.
One six-ounce container of plain low-fat yogurt and a cup of coffee has been my breakfast standby for about a year now. I've been eating the Liberte brand recently, but it gets expensive. I'm looking into making my own yogurt and seeing how that turns out. Today I was out of yogurt so I've finally broken into the old standby cereal box that I keep around for emergencies.
I'm interested in the reheatable breakfast burrito idea though and the stuffed sandwich with hardboiled egg, particularly now that it's freezing in my apartment when I wake up. I don't have a microwave, so I'm hoping that I can pop a pita stuffed with egg and salsa into the toaster oven and then shuffle back to take a shower.
Always coffee. The food varies. This week it's yogurt and a homemade banana-nut muffin.
After many years of no breakfast, we finally perfected it. Rolled oats go into the microwave, with some fruit (often frozen blueberries these days), while the coffee is brewing and I check e-mail. This takes no longer than 3 minutes, thus eliminating my old complaint of "not enough time."
I almost always eat breakfast...usually comes in around 300 or 350 calories and is usually sweet, but only subtlely so. I used to do yogurt on warm days and oatmeal on cool, but lately I've taken to adding yogurt to my oatmeal.
This fall I've been using up my cranberries in my oatmeal...one of my favorites has been cranberries and sweet potato puree, with 4 or so toasted pecans crumbled on top. It's like Thanksgiving for breakfast but minus the added sugar!
I always eat breakfast, but usually at work while I settle in - frozen waffles, yogurt, granola, Clif bar, fruit, leftover pizza or catered lunch (we have a lot of vendors who feed us)... some combination of those.
I always eat breakfast. If I don't eat a substantial enough breakfast I start wanting to hit up the vending machines at work, which offer little good food and drain me of excess cash.
I usually make a bulk breakfast on my days off and eat it during the workweek. Usually it's simple stuff like polenta or muffins. In the morning I have my pre-made breakfast with some kind of eggs. Sometimes I'll have sausage or bacon, sometimes I'll have a fruit smoothie, sometimes I eat yogurt, but I usually have grain and eggs. I have no shortage of eggs, ever (my parents have chickens and give me a dozen eggs a week), and eggs fill me up properly until lunchtime.
I used to eat oatmeal nearly every day. Now I can't eat gluten and I haven't found myself ready to splurge on gluten-free oats yet. So I stick with polenta and other gluten-free grains.
Oh, and I give myself an hour and a half between waking up and going to work. This gives me time to dawdle a bit. I don't muck around with morning showers and heat styling my hair or anything like that so I can have a nice, leisurely breakfast and time to read before I go to work.
I wouldn't get out of bed without the promise of breakfast.
A coffee the size of my head (or two) and usually a bowl of Chex, oatmeal, or a poached egg on toast. I've also done green smoothies (banana, soy milk, plain yogurt, a dollop of peanut butter, cinnamon, and a big ol' handful of spinach). I've been baking eggs in tomato sauce on the weekend and serve them atop a mound of polenta. I also love scrambled eggs with cheese or salsa, or omelets, or scrambled eggs in a corn tortilla. Umm, I love breakfast. I think it's a total cop-out when people claim they don't have time for it. A glass of skim milk is the perfect breakfast food, for instance -- it contains carbohydrates AND protein, and you can gulp it down quickly.
I ALWAYS eat breakfast, even during the week. In order to keep breakfast interesting, I try to vary my options as much as possible. Some favorites include whole grain toast with mashed avocado, yogurt with homemade granola, fruit salad, or oatmeal with a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon.
Man, I barely eat breakfast. I always mean to but ever since a child, I've never been hungry until about noon. Sometimes I'll force myself to. In which case it's a smoothie with a banana, strawberries, other berries on hand and soymilk. Sometimes I'll add a piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter slathered on. It's a delicious meal but it really only happens a few times a week.
I make an effort to eat breakfast every day, especially since I eat everything in sight for the next 24 hours if I don't. On week days, it's nearly always 2 eggs fried hard or scrambled, topped with cheese and served on a whole wheat tortilla with salsa. And I do this in the 30 minutes between when I get up and when I leave at 6:30am, so it IS doable. Having everything else prepped the night before is crucial, but so completely worth it.
Weekends have more variety. Often, it's something really similar to work-day but with eggs over easy. Every once in a while, though, I'll have a dougnut or morning bun. I do love those days.
I usually have oatmeal or yogurt with fruit or granola for breakfast at my desk. Sometimes I'll get a croissant, ham, cheese, and egg sandwhich.
I'm not much of a breakfast eater myself (usually just a cuppa, sometimes with a bar of some sort) but i make breakfast and pack lunches for my girlfriend. she's a type 1 diabetic, so a healthy balanced meal is important. lately, she's been having a green smoothie every day -- she says its the only thing that keeps her full (and away from snacks) until lunch, and helps w/ stable blood glucose levels, better than steel-cut oats, eggs, sausage, etc. here's what she prefers: chunks of frozen banana (.5 - .75 of a banana); about .5 - 1 cup of frozen spinach (frozen blends better than fresh, and keeps it cold); some water to keep it pourable; several supplement powders from Trader Joe's, including hemp protein powder, Red powder; cinnamon; stevia; large handful of frozen blueberries to disguise green color. :) blend a bit at a time until smoooooth. Makes about 20oz or so.
I love the idea of the crustless quiches and make-ahead breakfast sandwiches-- thanks for sharing!
I'm usually rushing in the morning (I love my sleep) but I must have some sort of breakfast. If there's time, it's usually instant oatmeal (from TJ's) or Special K with soy milk. If no time, it's a granola bar or piece of fruit (pears are my fave) for the ride to work.
I dream about breakfast as I go to bed at night. Lately I am addicted to the Olive Oil Granola recipe from the NY Times. I love eating that with a couple scoops of 8% fat Liberté Mediterranean style yogurt and a cup of coffee. While I check my email at work.
I never leave the house on weekdays without eating something. Bowl of oatmeal, cereal, smoothie I make up, frozen waffles, quick scrambled eggs, etc. This mornining I had a cut up Granny Smith Apple with Skippy Reduced Fat Peanut Butter and a cup of Jasmine Green Tea with honey.
I love breakfast food so much, sometimes I have it 2 or 3 times a day. For actual breakfast in the morning, my meal always consists of some sort of combination of: 2 eggs, 2 slices of bread, butter, fruit, juice, coffee. Delicious!
I couldn't imagine going without breakfast. I wake up famished. If I have a small or early dinner, I wake up hungry in the middle of the night.
I've found that eating breakfast at home on weekdays takes me at least 30 minutes though, so I've taken to eating at my desk at work. The work kitchen is full of my veggie sausages and cereals. but if there's traffic on the way to work, my stomach really starts complaining loudly.
Always-during the week it is always at my desk at work in front of my pc and on the weekends it is more leisurely. But I couldn't start my day w/out it.
I've been making high protein pancakes lately - I just add a few scoops of whey protein powder (enough for one serving of protein powder to one serving of pancakes) and some extra low fat milk. I dislike syrup on pancakes, so I use irish butter instead. The high carb, high protien, moderate fat content means I can eat one pancake and be healthfully full till lunchtime rolls around. For added flavor, I sometimes throw in a few semi-sweet chocolate chips - yum!
As a nurse-practitioner, I can attest that it's incredibly important to eat breakfast from a health perspective. It helps maintain metabolism level and supports cortisol (which affects how our bodies process sugar, as well as our energy levels.) The best is to eat within 30 mins of waking.
Despite the medical know-better, I still find it hard to stomach breakfast every morning. I'll put some almond butter on a piece of sprouted toast (higher in protein) and eat while I drive. Not ideal. I know. But better than nothing.
Breakfast always used to get cut from my morning routine, in favor of getting 10 more minutes of sleep. However, now that I've discovered Dorset cereal all that has changed! This is the yummiest breakfast food I've ever met, and a small bowl in the morning keeps me energized into the early afternoon. Making me hungry now...
I ALWAYS eat breakfast. I've been trying to include protein in every breakfast to give me more energy in the morning. Sometimes that just means throwing a couple almonds in my cereal or oatmeal or yogurt. I toss some flax seeds in there too. I eat a banana almost every morning, and my life would not be worth living without at least one cup of Barry's Irish Breakfast Tea! It's what motivates me to get out of bed when it's chilly outside. On the weekends, hoo boy. I lurve a nice big, late breakfast. Anything from eggs to pancakes to a simple baguette with crushed tomato and olive oil. Yum.
I love the sound of the burritos.
I usually have rice pudding with fruit (Muller Rice) at my desk as I often cycle to work and can't face food too early in the mornings. It's portable and easy and I don't have to make any decisions before I leave - grab'n'go!
Weekend breakfasts are lazy and usually mid-morning. I love to have an omlette if I have time, with cheese and mushrooms.
Bad things happen if I don't have breakfast and coffee in the mornings. The breakfast formula that works for me is one serving of protein, one of a complex carbohydrate, and a cup of coffee. My current norm is whole wheat toast with real butter, two slices of turkey or chicken deli meat, and free trade french roast or breakfast blend coffee.
Absolutely, every day. Always a banana, and most days a bowl of homemade yogurt with cinnamon, ground flax, and some Kashi GoLean. Weekends are lazier, but that's been my preferred breakfast for about 4 years now.
For the boyfriend, every other weekend or so I'll make a batch of Alton Brown's protein bars (recipe on foodnetwork.com), customized with whatever dried fruit we have on hand. Slice, wrap, freeze, hand him one as he runs out the door to work. Lovely.
For anyone wondering about making homemade yogurt, it's so ridiculously easy and incredibly cheaper than buying it. 1 gallon milk = 4 large tubs of yogurt, you do the price calculation. Plus, I think it tastes much better than all but the most expensive types.
Harold McGee wrote a method for making yogurt in the New York Times recently, and it's flawless. The first batch won't be as good as the others, as you save some yogurt to start the next batch, and your starter needs time to "mature", I think.
Rarely. I had a homemade dark chocolate brownie with almond butter and chunks of almonds and walnuts this morning! But I always need a decaf americano. I load it up with some half&half so at least it's some calories.
I ALWAYS eat breakfast. I would rather be late for work than miss breakfast (and sometimes have been!). I usually eat 2 scrambled eggs, a piece of toast with butter, a piece of fruit and a glass of soymilk. It's often the biggest meal of my day (calorie wise) and keeps me going! I also make sure to eat a morning snack (plain yogurt w/berries), lunch (a salad), an afternoon snack (an apple) and then dinner (fish or chicken with a veggie side). I am never hungry, I am never snacking on vending machine junk.
I used to never eat breakfast until about a year ago, now I wake up for it. Usually a rotation of either oatmeal, granola/plain yogurt/fruit, or a quick smoothie (buy a bunch of bananas, cut them up and keep them in the freezer with frozen berries). Now that it's getting chilly, tea is a must as well.
I always eat breakfast. Sometimes oatmeal or rice krispies with blueberries, Sometimes just toast and a banana. Lately I have been making a fried egg white in bacon grease if I have it and a few slices of peppered bacon. I found a perfect use for my small george forman grill I do the bacon on it and the grease drips away and I save for future use and it cooks on both side so no turning and perfect ridges and the best thing is no grease splatter. Love it mine is just big enough for 2-3 slices cut in half I generously pepper it before it goes on.
I pretty much always have breakfast. Workdays it used to always be at my desk because I had a longish cycle in and couldn't stomach it beforehand, I've now switched jobs and have only a 15-20min cycle commute, so usually breakfast at home (sometimes at work still though, at desk whilst scanning the 'net).
The usual is yoghurt with homemade granola*, during the winter I'll sometimes crave porridge**, which I make for myself and my fiance, and the times that I forget to make more granola I wind up with toast/muffins (that's English toasted muffins, not miniature cakes!). My fiance usually just has toast with Vegemite, although he sometimes fancies some yoghurt & granola too. Weekday breakfasts never involve meat, because I tend to eat meat at most once a day - we really don't need more than that to be healthy!
Weekends are a bit more unpredictable, and range from bacon sarnies (with butter, cheese and tomato ketchup!), through poached or scrambled eggs on toast, to pancakes with lashings of maple syrup. We don't often have milk in the house, so that's a bit of a treat for us. Eggs benedict, with my fiance's homemade hollandaise, is the big treat, and of course sometimes we go out for breakfast too. Although really, all of our weekend 'breakfasts' are actually brunch! Oh, and there's the days that we don't have anything at all because we have a noon booking at our favourite yum cha (dim sum) place. Yumyumyum.
*the yoghurt is full fat greek style because I believe low fat just means they took the flavour out; the granola is courtesy of BBC Good Food, "Good for you granola". I don't put in the vanilla, and have swapped the sesame seeds for chia seeds instead. Chock full of energy! Also possibly good for weight loss/maintenance, given oats take so much energy to digest.
**50g rolled oats 300-350ml milk per person, depending on how thick you like it, bring to boil and cook until it's how you like it, stirring throughout. Golden syrup optional, but very yummy drizzled on. Leftover cream that will otherwise go to waste also a very good addition.
There are some great suggestions in here that I want to try though - I'm also meaning to mix up a batch of the dense apple muffins that were on here a while back - they look like they'd be good freezer treats...
not the fanciest, but nuking a blended egg (or white) or two in the microwave is super easy, which helps with my breakfast sandwich of choice: whole wheat tortilla, 1/2 or 2/3 a cup of chopped spinach, two microwaved eggs, and some jalepeno salsa cream cheese from noah's bagels. under 300 calories, a serving of veggies, and sooooo filling.
and cream of wheat with agave nectar on mornings when i need sugar.
and green tea. always.
I have a spinach smoothie (spinach, fat free greek yogurt, blueberries, a banana, and ground flaxseed), plus something high in protein (like fortified cereal & milk) every single morning. HUGE breakfast person!!
definitely have to eat breakfast. i get to work at 7am -- 5 hours until lunchtime at noon is a long time to go without any food.
Here's an easy energy-boosting smoothie that I've been having for breakfast every day for 3 months now!
1 C. 1% milk
1 banana
2 Tbsp peanut butter
4 ice cubes
a drizzle of honey
Blend until the ice cubes are blended thoroughly. It's delicious and keeps me going until lunch.
I've been doing a flax cake lately - 3 tablespoons ground flax seeds, 2 tablespoons water, a pack of stevia or a bit of agave, and half an apple chopped. cook it like a pancake, then I top with a bit of cinnamon and some microwaved frozen raspberries. yum.
