Wow! Over 150 entries have now been posted in this year's Smallest Coolest Apartment (and home) Contest. We've been keeping an eye on the kitchens that we see in the entries and taking informal polls on your favorites. This past week of entries was rich and it was hard to pull out just four. Here is a very subjective look at our favorite four, but look for spotlights and features on more Small Cool entry kitchens all week!
• East #34: Gaastra's Mini Residence
• East #38: Sarah's 783 in Cambridge

I think if I had a kitchen half as lovely as any of these I might die of happiness.
They're all very nice. My favorite is the MidWest 28, because I'm a sucker for black and white floors, particularly with red touches. But is that a spice rack on top of the steam radiator! Please say it ain't so - spices should be kept in that proverbial "cool, dry place" no apartment I've ever lived in has had. I understand the storage limitations, but at least mount the rack on the wall to save your spices.
So, what 's the material on the floor? I am so like pyewacket, dying to get the black and white floors.
