While Jenny, our resident wine correspondent, tours Southeast Asia on her honeymoon, we'll be trying to cover for her in the wine department.
This week, we'd like to ask you, our readers, what kind of wine coverage you'd like to see in the new year.

I would love to read critiques of individual bottles. It would be refreshing to read an opinion by someone who has no motive to recommend one vineyard over another... which is why AT would be perfect for this sort of review.
I'd vote no for the type of posts which aim to 'demystify' wine... that sort of tone drives me batty!
None actually.
There is so much more you can pair food with than wine.
I know I will be mocked for saying this, but beer has more complexities than wine and more can be done to it.
If anything, there should be reviews and news on beer. Start with a good Saison or Flemish Red and go from there.
SMM, This is the kind of wine reporting we've been doing for over two years. Click here for a list of Jenny's posts, mostly about individual bottles.
Maybe pieces on food and wine pairing.
You could include a recipe and feature a particular bottle to complement it.
I'm all for covering interesting brews as well.
I should say, I am a beer snob, and I think beer is better than wine, but if more people want to read about wine than beer, that is acceptable with me.
That mean I just log on to Beer Advocate.
Perhaps, just the occasional mention of a quality beer?
I like the reviews of individual bottles of wine, but I am also with edward on the beer. While I certainly don't think that AT should be Beer Advocate, I'd love to see the occasional review of a beer - my personal choice would be reviews of beers from breweries local to the AT locations, but I'm and equal opprtunity beer drinker, so any reviews would be swell. :)
It may seem like a limited audience, but I would like some reviews of kosher wine, for us inclined to drink the kosher stuff.
I think local store reviews have a limited appeal because the Kitchen's readers live all over the place. I'd like to read more about food pairings and see individual bottle reviews (beer, too!). For the basics of wine tasting people can always go to the myriad other sites that have that info.
I'm allergic to wine (I know, tragic) but I'd love to read more about beer and liquor.
Though they're great, the individual bottle reviews always depress me, as they are never available at the government-run alcohol board. Perhaps another reason to give the States a visit....
My vote is a mix of the first and second options in the survey.
I would like to hear about types of wine and then some suggested bottles of that type.
For example, tell me about Malbec, compare it to other types of wine, and suggest a few good bottles. Or Prosecco, or Beaujolais.
Sort of the way I'd discuss it with a waiter at a restaurat.
There's an indespensible book out there called
What to Drink with What You Eat: The Definitive Guide to Pairing Food with Wine, Beer, Spirits, Coffee, Tea - Even Water - Based on Expert Advice from America's Best Sommeliers
By Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page
the title is quite a mouthful, I know, but it has everything, and will be referenced CONSTANTLY for many years to come...list price, $35, currently $23.10 on amazon.com (lots of helpful reviews too) or it also lists the ISBN-10 and ISBN-13 codes if you want to search it at your local library or bookseller
