We are planning on making pizza this weekend, and so we are excited to follow these two tips offered by Molly and Brandon in this video. You may know Molly Wizenberg as the author of the popular food blog Orangette. Her husband, Brandon, has a passion for pizza, and so they decided to open a pizza restaurant in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. Even though we don't generally cover restaurants, we're fascinated at the extension of home cooking that happens when a food blogger opens a restaurant (you can see our peek at Delancey here). Here are two great tips from Brandon making pizza at home.
You can find the book that Molly mentions here:
• Cucina Simpatica: Robust Trattoria Cooking From Al Forno, by Johanne Killeen and George Germon
You can also find out a little bit more about Delancey at their website:
• Delancey
And finally, check out a few more examples of grilled pizza from The Kitchn:

• Mark's Grilled Pizza on the Balcony
Happy pizza-making!
Straw Mat from The ...

Don't cook the sauce - genius!!! Thanks for the tip, can't wait to try it out :)
Another great option is to use a cast iron griddle and your broiler to make your pizza, as demonstrated here:

Who in the world cooks their sauce before sticking it on the pizza?
I generally use my standard tomato sauce on pizza--that not cooking it tip is great.
Apparently, verily, not everyone is as enlightened as you.
Both are great tips!!
I just hope that some of the pizzerias north of Connecticut are reading this...if they could only learn to not cook their sauce, I think I could actually go out for pizza some time!
Yeah - um - Goya canned tomato sauce - a lil basil and oregano - plain ole cheese - high end toppings - bella
Yay! I love Molly and Spilled Milk!
