The first episode of Ree Drummond's new cooking show, The Pioneer Woman, airs this Saturday. Check out a preview of the episode after the jump!
The show is shot on-location at Drummond's ranch in Oklahoma and, at least judging from the sneak peek above, is as much about life on the ranch as it is about the food. The first episode features a rancher-approved meal of chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, and marinated tomato salad.
The show debuts this Saturday, August 27 at 11:30am (10:30am Central) on the Food Network.

Red-and-Pink-Stripe...

ree is so great. i'm really happy for her.
i'm happy for her - she's amazing : smart, funny and adorable in that grown-up woman way.
What a wonderful looking show! If I had cable, I'd watch it. Love her - and love how she says "balsamic"!
Wonder who has the makeup concession.
I think I just gained 5 pounds watching this video...
i'm sad for the first time that we gave up cable earlier this year. i am a big fan of hers!
I think my arteries hardened a bit while I was watching that, but I like her personality.
I love Ree! And for gudnis, according to her blog, she wears Cover Girl "Crazy for Coffee" lipstick. Hope the TV stuff doesn't ruin her, she seems so practical and grounded.
Love her blog, her voice still weirds me out though. It's just not what I expected!
I'm just happy Food Network is starting to invest some real time and money into actual cooking programs again. I've gotten so tired of these reality show cook offs.
I love butter, but that mashed potato recipe is way too much. Sheesh.
I have garnered so many really good recipes from Ree, I am really looking forward to her show.
Her knife techniques make me nervous....
I love how comfortable she is cooking- it's clear that she's a natural.
I love her as a blogger. But I find her voice a little annoying.
