Spirals of carrots, squash, and celery, not to mention a serious uptick in vegetable consumption, will probably result from this Vegetable Twister, designed by Nose Intelligence for Swiss kitchenwares company Betty Bossi.
It may not be in production yet, as it's not available on their website, and we wonder if it will ever be available on this side of the Atlantic. We hope so! We are picturing a small mountain of thinly spiraled carrots - they would steam so quickly and look so pretty!

Oh my freaking gosh, I want one!!!
I live in Switzerland and have one. They are pretty small so you can't do large vegetables. The radishes sort of get stuck and very little comes swirling out. I thought it was a great idea at first but it's now collecting dust with a lot of other gadgets...
Looks awesome...in theory, at least. I imagine it'd be even more of a pain to clean than a garlic press. But I'd end up eating so many vegetables, and imagine the possibilities for garnishes!
I'd like to try it with a potato - and deep-fry the results for a crunchy topping on soups/salads/sandwiches.
Aaron, that's why I bought the thing but the problem is a potato won't fit. I suppose I could try to cut a potato into pieces but it would take forever to pass it through the gadget - not to mention that the potatoes would probably turn brown by the time I finished the whole batch...
So it's a smaller, slower version of <A HREF="http://www.amazon.com/Joyce-Chen-Saladacco-Spiral-Slicer/dp/B0000DDVYE">this</A>?
