There aren't many of us that don't get a little googley-eyed for colored glassware. They make any table prettier and any snack more appealing. Instead of filling your cabinets with expensive retail purchases, try this simple bottle idea instead.
Camilla over at Family Chic has been using these bottles to make her kitchen a little more fun. The best part? They're just simple Schweppes Ginger Ale bottles. They'd be a blast for a party and although we can hear your sad songs of, "But they'll be so hard to clean" they're dishwasher friendly. Plus, if you don't have a dishwasher, chances are you already have a good bottle brush that will get the job done just fine.
They'd be great for a party table or anytime you want a little something special to go along with your meal. The best part is there's little guilt if you decide green isn't your color and want to start collecting something else. Just recycle and go about your business. If you had purchased a full set of colored glassware from your favorite retailer and grew tired of it — well then that would be a different story.

I have the same bottles that I love to use to serve rum punch out of!
Nice idea! I already save all my bon maman jam jars.
I imagine they're somewhat difficult to fill, though. Although that may just be because I don't have steady hands. Regardless of one's manual dexterity, these are really cool, and I wouldn't mind trying it sometime. I'm always one for more kitchen glassware.
Great idea, especially if you are hosting a kids party or have accident prone guests.
@Willard: You can use a funnel.
how do you get the cookies in the milk? ;)
Let's use paper straws instead of plastic! For instance... http://www.graygoose.com/collections/all/products/paper-straws OR http://www.kikkerlandshop.com/cu13bl.html OR http://www.etsy.com/listing/48298975/50-striped-paper-straws-kelly-greenwhite
I save pretty much any glass anything that comes across my kitchen counter, it drives my husband crazy. I use them for craft projects mostly but why didn't I think of THIS before?? Thanks for the idea!
