Up until now I haven't used place cards for dinner parties or brunch get-togethers. My gatherings are usually casual and on the small side - just my boyfriend and a few close friends. I always felt like I needed a larger group or a fancy occasion to warrant place cards.

That is, until I discovered these super-fun, edible fruit kabob place cards! They're totally irresistible. From now on, there's fruit kabob place cards for everyone!

Whether you're throwing a casual get-together or a more formal affair, your guests will love seeing a personalized fruit skewer on their plate. Plus, they're really easy to make!

Here's what you need:

  • Small alphabet cookie cutters (about 3/4-inch tall)
  • Wooden skewers
  • Knife
  • Fruit - Honeydew, cantaloupe and watermelon are pictured here. I think semi-firm fruits like pears, apple and pineapple will also work well.

Prep the fruit kabobs ahead of time and place them on plates just before your guests arrive. Not only will your guests know where to sit, but they'll have something fresh to nibble on before the meal. They can even use these fruity skewers as a drink stirrer!
