New (Free!) iPhone App Lets You Beam Photos and Contacts to Other iUsers

102708_sz_fliq2.jpg Remember when business types got all excited when they could beam contact information to each other via their phones using infrared. It was the digital version of giving someone your bidness card. Some people still do this using Bluetooth, but since making sure everyone's Bluetooth is enabled and then getting the damn thing to work can make the other person think twice about getting your digits, many have abandoned the practice.

Well, like with many things these days, the iPhone and iTouch are improving on some of the technicalities of mobile phone use. One of them being how to share stuff with other iUsers...

Fliq, a free social networking app, lets those with iPhones or iTouchs send photos and contacts to whoever's sitting on the same Wi-Fi network. Since you're not dependent on your network to upload and then download the content from your phone to another's, the process takes seconds.

Fliq was created by Mark/Space who also developed the free app for Blackberry users who sync to their Macs.

Fliq is free from the Apple iTunes Store.
