We just saw these DIY Kumquat and Bay Leaf Trees over at Betty Crocker and we thought they are a beautiful, kitchen-centric idea for an Un-Gift or a holiday table decoration. Kumquats are currently in season and they're delicious peeled or eaten whole with their tender skin.
Making these trees is especially practical if you live in a climate where kumquats grow locally; this craft takes about three pounds.
Also be aware that kumquats only stay fresh for about three days at room temperature. If you make one ahead of time store it somewhere cold.
