Do you have a mug or tea collection threatening to overwhelm your interior cabinet space? Take a cue from these photos and hang them on hooks instead. This look is particularly fetching with brightly colored mugs or teacups, but simple white has a charm all its own.

Straw Mat from The ...

Really? A post suggesting the novel idea to use cuphooks to hang cups from? Slow news day I guess...
(sorry; I'm in a mood)
I don't know why we didn't think of this. We have those awful hanging baskets and all they do is flop sideways and crowd the pantry. Thanks for this idea.
I have lots of pretty blue and white teacups hidden away in my cupboards - maybe this is something I should take a second look at.
My only fear is that they would get jostled a lot and/or bumped off and broken. We have a lot of low overhead cupboards...
I have my mugs hanging under our overhead cabinets. It was a win-win for us because we collect thrift store find mugs that don't all fit nicely together in our cupboard and in the morning, pre-coffee I don't break any mugs trying to un-tangle them from each other! Just grab and go...it also eliminates that awkward moment when you realize you have no clean mugs and have to decide which crusty old mug will be the least work to rinse out.
This was a very common way 'back in the day'..not sure why, but it was, I remember seeing this in homes when I was a 'kid'..I do like the look of assorted pretty colored tea cupsl..vintage and charming looking in the right setting..as above!
The 3rd photo is actually mine, and we have since moved. Now we have the IKEA Grundtal shelves with S-hooks and hang the mugs under that. We like that solution, too.
