Pot racks can help clear the clutter in a small kitchen. This idea puts to use an old screen door and in return gives you some serious storage for all sorts of kitchen goods. Want to see how it's made?
We ran across this fun little project over at Better Homes and Gardens where this periwinkle door is a pretty sight to see. They suggest using a heavy gauge wire mesh stapled down and then suspending the entire unit from chains.
If you're a little uneasy about the mesh holding you might try pieces of lucite. They are relatively inexpensive at your local big box hardware store and can be cut to size to fit in the same place mesh would. Drill evenly spaced holes for S-Hooks to sit in and you might find yourself with surface that can take a little more weight.
It's a pot rack that has a little upper storage space as well and we think it's a great idea if your kitchen has space. How would you improvise the project to make it yours? Let us know in the comments below!

this is certainly cuter than my stainless steel one. but would it be as sturdy?
Those ceramic bowls look precariously perched.
I'm sorry. I think this looks junky, not charming.
Cute... but then when it gets dusty up there I could actually see it... I don't want that.. :-p
This is ridiculous. Screen door mesh can't hold pans! And it's misleading to show stuff on top of the door-- it's all balanced on the frame! "If you're a little uneasy about the mesh holding you might try pieces of lucite"? Not only do I have to find a door, I have to find lucite? Boo, AT. This is lame.
This looks not-quite-sturdy enough to function appropriately. I have, however, seen one made from a wrought iron window grate that looked pretty good, and a bit more functional.
very country cottage i love it
