The Viking stove and refrigerator in this San Francisco kitchen may have been the biggest indulgence, but owners Tracey and Jason say that's not what grabs people's attention. "People are drawn to our color choices for the kitchen," they tell Apartment Therapy in this 2010 House Tour, referring to the shades of green paired with black countertops, cream cabinets, and a few splashy red accents.
The paint color is Benjamin Moore's "Wales Green" on the main wall, and "Pear Green" on the accent wall. Very pretty!

It all works well except for the cream cabinetry. It distracts. A better choice might have been a clean grey along the same line as the rug or even darker. Or maybe even a pale beige that is still strong enough to be capable of acknowledge the wood tones. Creams and ivories are tricky to use with bright, splashy colors.
