Here's a super cute idea for your holiday (or birthday) decorations: A pie banner — made with alphabet soup pasta! It doesn't stop there; read on to see the placecards.

This idea comes from Chiara Alberetti Milott at Oh Happy Day! She uses uncooked alphabet pasta to make name cards and a pretty swag for a pie. For those of us challenged by a pastry bag, this could be a much nicer way to decorate a birthday cake.

OK, I would love to just have alphabet pasta on hand for my kids- I can never find it!!! Can anyone tell me a major retailer that carries it? Safeway, Kroger, one of those? Thanks in advance if you can help me.

Hi Larsie, I actually had to ask my parents to look at their local Stop-N-Shop in Connecticut! I couldn't find it anywhere in Brooklyn. Amazon does carry it, if you can't find it anywhere else.

Thanks, M-Candy. Yes, I may actually order it on amazon. Isn't that sad? Shouldn't it be available in every store?! That's funny it doesn't exist in all of Brooklyn (!) and not here in big old Houston, TX, either!! Some pasta co. could make a killing!
