Unwrap it and place it between two plates in the refrigerator. "Otherwise, it will suffocate and begin to stink!" she says. The plates allow the air to circulate, preventing it from developing a fishy smell, which we all know is a sign that fish is not fresh. I tested her advice. Works like a charm -- the refrigerator doesn't smell like fish and the fish still looks clear-eyed and fresh 24 hours later.
