What your favorite bits of the New York Times dining section yesterday? Our favorite was hands-down easy to pick...
- Melissa Clark's slow-cooked green beans We adore green beans that have been slow-cooked; we have a similar Greek-style recipe here. We can hardly wait to try Melissa's version! It doesn't hurt that grilled sausages are also involved.
- Chapati on the grill This was a close runner-up for our favorite. Mark Bittman shows how to cook the classic Indian chapati bread on a grill.
- Good coffee roasting in Brooklyn Stumptown Coffee Roasters is coming to New York! Good news for all who love fresh-roasted beans.
- Succotash! Fresh lima beans are in season.
- George Washington...distiller? The Founding Father's distillery has been reconstructed and reopened.

I made the chapatis last night to go with some lemon grilled chicken, hummus, and a greek salad. Basically I used the chapati to replace pita just to try the recipe and because it was so fast. They turned out really well.
i am sorry that i have to say this, but that looks like a dog turd on the plate...usually everything looks so appetizing, but that is just where my brain went...
Those green beans are to die for. I made them last night and plan to make them again.
The Melissa Clark braised beans recipe is amazing! I've made it twice already ... make sure you try it!
