Find it: Buy at Cooking.com, $29.95
We ate our first dish out of the garden last night - a green salad with chives and herbs -and now we can hardly wait to chop up our cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers into fresh salsa. To help you do the same, we are holding a truly fabulous giveaway today. Remember this Chef'N manual food processor, the VeggiChop? You can see a video demonstration here of this completely charming chopper.
We're giving away a full dozen! Read on for instructions on how to enter...
We think that this food processor a great option for some small kitchens. We speak from experience and say that making pesto and grinding nuts is indeed much, much quicker in a food processor than with a knife and two hands; but food processors can get expensive and are too big for many small kitchens. This one, on the other hand, has no handles to stick out and take up precious cupboard space; it's small enough to stack inside a bowl.
We also like that it uses no electricity! Just think - fresh salsa when camping, or at the park. Plus you get a workout when you use it. It's quieter than a regular food processor too.
TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY: Want to win one of these 12 Chef'N VeggiChops? Tell us what you'd chop in the chopper! Salsa? (See some favorite recipes below.) Dip? Mirepoix for soup? Tell us in your comment!

probably salsa. And anything choppable.
oh man, i want one of these! since i love me some salsa, that's what i would make first. and since i've got some mangos sitting right here, it'd likely be a yummy tangy mango salsa!
If it's strong enough, I'd chop root vegetables in it.
I remember when you guys posted about this a while back, and I remember thinking that it was an awesome kitchen gadget!
I would use it for just about everything I use my regular processor for - hummus, pesto, chopped nuts. And because I frequently cook for just myself, I don't really need to use a big food processor bowl to make a few servings of hummus, so this would be absolutely perfect!
I'll do salsa first.
I drink a lot of protein drinks when I work out and during the summer time when I'm more active, so I think this would be great to chop up fresh fruits and to mix with protein mix and crushed ice.
Hash browns, baby! Sunday brunch at my place for everyone!
It sure looks easy enough to use.I would love to make fresh salsa.I tried in my food pro but it was to soft
onions, cilantro, garlic, etc. And not just for salsa. For everything. THis could save me a lot of time and smelly hands.
Very clever if it works. I'd like to give it a try.
Salsa and bruschetta, my summertime and party staples. I make heat-less salsa (just onions, cilantro, garlic, tomatoes, and lime juice) that I put on top of EVERYTHING during the summer, and this would save my hands a TON of work from all the chopping that needs to be done.
such happy colors!
I'll chop up some onion, cilantro, and tomato to make some fresh guacamole! :D
I'd definitely chop up some fresh salsa or pico de gallo. Then, maybe some nice fruit chutney as a side dish to some chicken.
This would be handy for chopping the veggies for a huge chef salad!
I L-O-V-E fresh salsa and that would definitely be the first thing that I would make in this!!
Love it-Need it-Want it!
some pico de gallo sounds good...
fresh fruit (bananas, peaches, strawberries) to mix into frozen yogurt. We've had it every night this week!
I'd love to use it to make fresh pesto with my new basil plant, it would be great for onions too, I always cry when I chop!
Just the mention of salsa has gotten me craving some! That would be first on the list.
pineapple - the base for a summery salsa
The Mango Salsa sounds awesome - I would definitely start with that.
I like to make my own salsa, and this would be great to use
I would make my special salsa!
Thank you
I have an old worn-down one given to me by my mom that I use to make smoothies. It's an energy-saving solution for a yummy breakfast! Plus, as a cyclist I mostly focus on leg strength, so this helps keeps my arms in shape (sort of) :) The one I have now dulling and cracked in some places, so a new one would be awesome.
fresh fruit salsa for mixing in yogurt or making silly summer drinks.
I would chop up some celery, onion, cashews, some apple, and a couple of raisins to make my curry chicken salad. MMMM, a perfect summer treat on top of some fresh spinach or on a crusty roll.
I would chop up veggies for a cold pasta salad to go with a perfectly grilled steak!

I think I'd have to figure out a way to make something sweet with it -- maybe the makings of a small pie crust? Or else, throw in some strawberries and rum...mmmm.
onions, carrots, and chicken
Gosh, this would be convenient to chop so many things! I'd probably use it most for herbs, onions & nuts.

Summer is all about the salsas and the pesto
You're giving away 12, i'll give you 12 dishes(without looking at the previous comments):
chili, curry, salsa, stuffing, meat pies, stew, chop suey, hash browns, omelett, cole slaw, tomato sauce, stir fry. (bonus points for baklavah)
chimichurri
This would make it so much easier to put together my salsa, bruschetta topping, and my stiry fry veggies. I've never tried to make pesto before, but this could inspire me. Some of the earlier posters have, that's for sure. In the fall this would be great for chopping nuts for my apple crisp topping.
ooooh fresh ginger!!!

OMgosh I'd love one of these. I always eye them but have never bought one. I'd use it to chop fruit, veges, herbs... and often for salads and dips!! I'd so love it... thanks for the chance!
I have a tiny apartment (well, tiny by Southern standards, anyway) with a miniscule kitchen, so there's just not much room for a lot of fancy devices. This chopper would be awesome for making salsas, of course, but I'd use it even more frequently for guacamole. I can't get enough of that stuff lately, and right now I just chop everything myself!
Plus I've never been daring enough to chop all the goodies for pesto by hand. My knife skills could stand to improve.
I'd use it to chop up onions and peppers.
That is so cool! Like a windup doll... gotta love when you can play with your food! :) I'd probably make salsa. I am a big chips and salsa lover.
Thanks for hosting this fun giveaway! I hope I win :)

garlic, ginger, onion -- all kinds of things that go into curries!!
Cucumbers for raita
a nice chunky gazpacho base
Mango salsa would be amazing! :)
I can't see just doing garlic in it unless you are doing a whole head of it.
I'd mainly use it for fresh salsa. I like to serve it on chicken and in black beans. Basically just tomatoes, garlic, onions, green pepper, banana pepper, little splash of vinegar, salt, little sugar and seasonings. Then I'd add some hand chopped cilantro.
I would totally take this camping! Imagine all the combinations you could do just by packing tomatoes, onions, cilantro, peppers, basil, and garlic! Salsa, sauces, pesto, gazpacho... fun!

I'm curious how well this would work for dough. I use my electric food processor for pie dough all the time, and I'd love to try this too. Perfect blueberry pie, perhaps baked in a campfire stove??
Definitely fresh salsa (chopping onions makes me cry like crazy), also veggies for homemade eggrolls.
I'd make salsa from my first-ever garden! Well, I'd make it in a month or so--here in Utah we haven't quite reached harvest time for anything yet...but I'm optimistic!
i have a mean gazpacho recipe that this would do wonders for! and, after planting much of the ingredients in my inaugural garden, it would be perfect!

Somehow I don't mind chopping veggies but I hate to chop fruit. weird.

I would chop fruit for chunky smoothies or yogurt parfaits, makes lots of sauces, salsa, chop veggies for soups or omelettes, fresh herbs, etc. etc.
I could have used this just this afternoon for all of the chunky bits in my guacamole. I'd probably use it for that. And salsa. And about a million other things that I don't bother with now because they require too much chopping to do by hand.
My kitchen is tiny (there's just enough counter space for my toaster) and that would definitely be easy to store. I would use it for everything... I put garlic in everything but dessert, so it would come in handy for that and onions, of course.
