Well, today we're giving away a colander and a cutting board to help you along. The best part is - these are from the Recycline Preserve line, so they're made out of recycled plastic and recyclable themselves.

Cucumbers! Who doesn't love cucumbers?

I'm rinsing and chopping my container-garden-grown veggies! right now we have some happy grape tomatoes and jalapeños ready to be cleaned and diced for homemade salsa... and cucumbers ripening quickly for pickling!
I am eagerly awaiting my tomatoes (cherry and San Marzano)to turn into fruit. I am so excited about them.

I just bought my first ever fresh apricots, which I am enjoying with much juice and mess. I also picked up some lovely fresh peas and some greens I have never seen before but came very highly recommended by the gentleman at the market. It starts with a P and isn't purslane, has large (bigger than my hand) thick-ish green leaves with purple veins. Anyone know what it is and how best to serve it?

My absolute favorite summer produce happens to be tomatoes. I will be chopping those all the time, especially in the late summer months.
apricots! rinse a big pile of them, pull or chop into pieces, throw em into a skillet with a knob of butter, some brown sugar, and shot of mandarin vodka. simmer it all up and ta da! fantasticots!

I have just started developing a love for salads so all things salad-y are what I'm rinsin and choppin! We also go to the strawberry patch (what a fun time) and then chop and make preserves!
Oh man, strawberries, watermelon, pineapple, canteloupe are only some of the many fruits we are eating now. When my garden starts producing we'll be doing lettuce, green beans, sugar snap peas, carrots, tomatoes.

I grill a lot, so I love to grill vegetables: asparagus, peppers, tomatoes, etc. What is also fantastic is sliced plums (especially the black ones) served with grilled pork tenderloin. MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm

String beans! I love to sit on the patio with a bag of string beans and a colander. I break off the ends, wash them in the colander and then cut them into bite-size pieces or leave them long, depending on how I will use them.

Gosh, I love my summer season--I've even included various safe tomatoes and our unique locovore greens such as dandelions, red and green romaines. all in all a great summer harvest.
