So many things! First I'd make "Crockpot Venison" with mushrooms, onions, and root vegetables (my dad would be so proud!), then I'd use it just as a dutch oven to make chicken with 40 cloves of garlic (which will either make me the most or least popular apartment-dweller in my building), and then on to steel-cut oatmeal! Yes!
I'd love this for making vegetable stock, soups, and oats.

I had such terrible luck with the first one, that only by winning one will I give it another try. The lid is not heavy enough and allows steam to escape, thus negating the entire "enclosed-steam-moisture-cooking" concept.

1 2oz jar diced pimento, drained
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 11oz can condensed cheddar cheese soup
3/4 cup milk
1 TBSP snipped fresh parsley (I use dried, and it doesn't make much of a difference)
In a 3 1/2 quart slow cooker, combine hash browns, ham, pimiento and pepper. In a medium bowl, combine soup & milk. Stir until well combined, and pour over potato mixture. Mix everything to combine well.

i'd like to share "turkey legs in a crockpot". thaw turkey legs. i use 3 in my crockpot. pour "nature's seasoning" on each leg & turn crockpot on LOW for several hours. (6-7 usually does it) the only other ingredient is "bay leaves" (2). once you smell this wonderfully easy dish, you realize you can have turkey often. the meat falls off the bones. it is the best dish i ever made in a slow-cooker. bake a few potatoes or whip up some stuffing, add cranberry sauce, and YOU HAVE A SURPRISINGLY easy and most delicious meal.

After years of NOT using my slow cooker, I recently got it out. It's an old avacado green thing. I had just learned of some great slow cooker recipes (to include the use of sofrito sauce, which I'll admit I had never heard of). Oh, man...talke about good on shredded pork!!! Anyway, I am looking forward to a lot of slow cooker meals and would love a new, nicer, larger, SAFER cooker. Thanks.

This pot is an excellent design to be able to brown meats first, then continue on to show cook. I always love to cook roasts in a slow cooker, but first you have to brown on the stove, then put in the slow cooker.
