Straw Mat from The ...

i love my microplane grater. i use it to grate parmesan cheese or zest lemons and limes.
I've been thinking about that cornbread all morning! Would love to add this to my growing cookbook collection.
I love all of my kitchen tools, all too-many-of-them. No, that's a lie, I don't love my mini-cuis - because I want a big one. Yes.
Not one thing right now, but soon as the temp rises, I'll pull out the ice cream attachment to my kitchenaid stand mixer and make sorbet and ice cream galore. I hope to make some unusual flavors like corn and avocado this year!
I also use my microplane grater several times a day, usually to grate parmesan.
Another item I use all the time is my Williams Sonoma egg poacher -- I know, I know, it's not poaching eggs directly in water, but you keep all the white this way, and it's essentially foolproof as long as you don't forget about it!
my cook's knife
Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie!! NO really.... I've been coveting this book.
definitely my chef's knife
Besides my Chef's Knife, I use my 10-inch All-Clad fry pan the most!
Besides my serrated knife, my omelette pan lately! I make myself a nice breakfast every morning to start my day off right.
coffee maker! I need 4 cups in the morning to start off, then 4 more in the afternoon to keep me sane! Seriously, coffee is part of my diet. So that counts as a tool?
a well worn wooden spoon
just got a benriner. love, love, love it.
Chef's knife and a cutting board
definitely my knives and Preserve cutting board!
My enameled cast iron dutch oven...perfect for so many things!
Stove-top espresso maker
My cookbook collection... all too small, by te way, but annotated with love!
mini-kitchenaid chopper is great
mostly i just love my wusthof seven dollar serrated knife
I love my mortar and pestles
my knives and chopping boards, with all the garlic, onions, spring onions, ginger, parsley, cilantro I've been using latley I wash and dry and put them right back on the counter top.
I love the food-pro attachment on my immersion blender
My Great-Grandma's cast iron skillet recently passed on to me. I use it for all those great southern recipes especially grandma's fried chicken and corn bread. With three generations of seasoning it's slicker than the best non-stick pan and everything comes out tasting divine.
I use my chef's knife the most- duh. But I also love this little pot I bought at a asia-mart. It's so cute and the perfect size for rice sides and small batches of soup.
definitely my splurge - henkel knives
I love my cast iron skillet as well
I have developed a mildly unhealthy obsession with my mandoline and I think it's making my knives jealous.
butter, chef's knife and tongs
My pink KitchenAid stand mixer
A wooden spoon with a flat edge. Scrape, stir, poke, etc.
My chef's knife, though it is from a cheap knife set I love the shape. And secondly my tea kettle, I am quite the tea fiend.
My Forschners. Nothing but the best for the butcher's girlfriend.
My slow cooker is my best friend.
My Le Creuset 4 qt. Dutch Oven. And my Japanese Chef's knife. And my pizza stone.
:)
Too easy- my cast iron skillet. it makes EVERYTHING.
i love my stand mixer.
Tongs, I use my silicon tongs for just about every meal I make!
I love my silicone spatulas. For several years I asked for some for Christmas, but my husband always thought "That's too small to be a gift". Last year my son stepped in a bought me a set. Still one of my favorite gifts EVER!
I absolutely LOVE my microplane....but I would love even more to win this book!
LOVE my chopper! I hate smelling like onions or garlic! This is a life saver!
Lately I've been loving my chef's knife and bamboo cutting board. Chop, mince, dice, slice then whoosh! Into the pan!
great knives. always find a use for more great knives
Easily my 6" chef's knife, or possibly my 3" paring knife. Nothing else even comes close in terms of the use it sees, though there are many other tools I use on a regular basis.
mortar and pestle
My cast iron griddle that my folks gave me for my birthday when I moved into an apartment.
i love my chef's knife but with cherries in season I've been using my cherry pitter lots to make some delicious treats!
Chef's knife and silicone whisk. How I cooked without one in the past eludes me.
My chef's knife, which is currently in dire need of a new edge :( Besides butter/steak knives for dining and a few errant cheese spreaders, I only have one knife. I lovely German steel 7" blade that I got as a present. I use that knife for EVERYTHING! I don't think I could live with out it really.
(Also high up there is my beloved copy of the Joy of Cooking. I got it for my 13th birthday and it may have been the first cookbook that was mine and not stolen from my parents collection. Certain pages are stuck together and there is a section with a big green stain that I hope is from a food coloring/fondant/petit four experiment, but its still the go to when I need to look up the basics of how to make something.)
i just love to cook.
I'm just now getting my kitchen going-- as a fresh-from-college newlywed, I'm still waiting on silverware and plates!
Right now, my mom's hand-me-down cast-iron skillet (three generations of use now, and it's beginning to show) is probably the best thing that could have happened to my short-staffed cooking; it makes our meals delicious enough to counter our paper-and-plastic place settings.
Still, as soon as I get an upright mixer... well, let's just say I do love my cakes.
My chef's knife and my new wooden cutting block. I forgot how lovely it feels to chop veggies and herbs on wood instead of plastic.
My 8" chef's knife. And now that it's summer, my lemon squeezer, for cocktails.
really, my tea kettle is what i mostly use. i use it every day! besides that, any of my knives--chef, utility, paring, whatever is the most efficient, or more likely, clean. :-)
My cutting board and 8" chef's knife. Not very glamorous, but there it is. In the winter, I rarely put away my dutch oven (a red, enameled-cast iron beauty!). And in the summer... Ice trays?
Oven thermometer... i've been doing some travelling baking, and oven are between 25 and 75 degrees off! It's such a fast way to be sure you're baking comes out properly. I don't bake away from home without it!
My trusty 10-inch chef's knife is what I reach for most frequently....
Good knives and lightweight stainless steel mixing bowls are in constant use in my kitchen.
It's a tie between my stand mixer, big wooden mixing paddle & chef's knife that gets the most use!
My Chef's Knife! :-D
my le creuset pan -- in dune
Hands down, it's my bench scraper I use most often. To clear crumbs off the counter, to pick up chopped stuff, to remove spilled and dried stuff left behind by our roommate. I use it almost every day, even when I'm not actually cooking anything. It was the second kitchen gadget I bought when I moved into my own home.
knives and iron skillets.
Most frequently would be my knife and my cutting board. I wish I used my mandoline more, but I often forget until it is too late.
My super-cheap chef's knife!
It's a tie between my microplane grater, my tongs for grilling and my dutch oven!
my chef's knife and wooden spoons are used almost every time I cook.
I'm using my whisk often to make all sorts of tasty treats, viniagrettes and sauces.
Definitely my KitchenAid silicone spatula. I have nonstick pans and it's just wonderful...
wooden spatula, knives of course, epicurean cutting boards, quarry tiles in the oven...
I absolutely love my 12 inch cast iron skillet. Weighs a ton, but cooks up great meals. Oven proof too!
My Ikea chef's knife! I'd always had hand-me-down knives, and so I didn't know how a chef's knife was supposed to feel in your hand - they were always old and blunt and hard to handle, so for years I chopped and sliced and diced everything with steak knives. Oh my god! Now that I have a great knife that feels right I use it nearly every day. I've even smashed up nuts in my mortar with the big, heavy handle when the pestle doesn't cut it. I love my knife!
My Wusthof Chef's knife! I love my knife!
(what she said.)
My percolator!
knife
food processor
wooden spoon
chefs knife
I love this mixing bowl I have. It's got a rubber bottom and pouring spout. So simple and so perfect.
My Henckels chef's knife from Target!
My plastic coated kitchen tongs...don't like scratching my pans!
My muffin pans--they help make mornings bearable.
My dijon yellow Le Creuset dutch oven - I use it for everything from stews and braises to soups and sautees, you name it, I've done it. Best investment in cookware I've ever made!
Things cooks love... cooking? food? I also love my kitchenaid.
My chef's knife. Followed by my all-clad saute pan with lid and splatter guard--you can do anything in it
My favorite are my mini ceramic loaf pans I got from the drug store for a dollar each. They are beautiful pastel shades of blue and green and remind me of the ones my grandmother used when I was young. I use them when I have some extra bread dough or meatloaf mix but not enough for a standard size, for making goetta, for small poundcakes and other desserts.
since it's been warm? my countertop grill :)
I'm loving my Bialetti Cappuccino maker these days!
Santoku knife...and cutting board. The two go together.
Besides my favorite knife, I've got a this thin, flat-edged wooden spatula that I found in a bag at my parents' house. It can't handle a thick stew, but because of the angled flat edge, I find myself reaching for it all the time!
My Santoku or a wooden reamer. I've been using more citrus lately.
My favorite tool is my microplane grater, even though it is not the tool i use the most often. That would probably a simple pair of wooden chopsticks.
I love my Kyocera paring knife.
My food processor- use for baby food, bread dough, pestos and other sauces, etc....
I love, love, love my cherry pitter. I actually use it more for greek olives. My kids think it's the greatest invention ever.
with summer goodness starting to explode in the csa box, i'm using the processor a lot (omg pesto). earlier in the year it was the kitchen aid - lots of baking. for non-plug-in tools, it's the hand reamer - lemons and limes for everything from tea to humus to salad dressing to guac!
I love my crock pot, it gives me more time to play outside with the kids than being stuck over the stove.
I use my crappy old toaster oven most.
He was a bachelor for a long time before he met me and insists that all food is better in a toaster oven, LOL.
Sur La Table is such an awesome store... now I want to go to the Pike Place Market location!
My paring knife. The slow cooker comes in a close second though. Especially during the summer.
Paring knives. With preschoolers I have to cut most foods up into smallish pieces!
I use my 10" cast iron skillet most, I guess. Then all my baking stoneware. Fresh bread!
garlic press for my stir fry dishes.
Silicone spatulas, without a doubt! They scrape, they saute, they serve--how do you beat that for versatility?
My cast iron skillet, altho lately I'm trying to think outside the pan. . .
My crock-pot! Is that considered a tool? Because I love it! I use it at least once a week, and it's my favorite go-to meal helper when I'm stuck for dinner!
For the last few weeks I've been feeling naked without a Benriner. I love my little mandoline, as its a great way to sneak more vegetables into our meals. I'm shaving and julienning everything in sight, and its wonderful.
The big winner is julienned radishes and carrot mixed into steamed rice, adding a little more interest to our go-to starch.
right now it's my chef knife and juicer.
I use the Magic Bullet for everything from making smoothies for my son to making baby food for my daughter to grinding fresh ginger.
I can't live without my crock pot. I love to cook in it and I love how I can just toss in the ingredients and leave it and come dinner time we have a yummy dinner already prepared for us. I especially love to make stew in my crock pot.
We also use our veggie steamer basically every day. I don't know what I would without my veggie steamer either.
garlic press
Wow that a tuff one. I love kitchen gadgets. I love La Sur Table ,and I can spent hours there. I guess my henkel knives are number one. I am always chopping, cutting ect. My cast iron pots are next. (skillet, griddle, dutch oven). I could literally list a tons of things.
We're about to celebrate the purchase of a cast-iron griddle with some pancakes. We could really use some more ideas about what to add to our kitchen arsenal. :-)
I like to think instead of one favorite I have a good team built up that make cooking fun. This includes KitchenAid food processor, aka "Choppa." KitchenAid mixer aka "Willis." Good knives, cutting board, and Calphalon pans or cast iron, and many, many gadgets!
I love my slow cooker for those days when I know I'm not going to have time to play in the kitchen before dinner.
Either my frying pan or my tongs...
I would have to say the cutting board!

It's a tie between the Cuisinart food processor and the All Clad slow cooker.
Kitchen Aid mixer! Great giveaway, I would love this!
The humble, wooden spoon. It's a beautiful one, not like those cheap ones, but of a more substantial weight, hard and perfect for all sorts of cooking needs. It has the most beautiful patina as well.
Having seen this book, that's such a lovely question to ask. :)
Lately, I have actually been using my electric steamer almost every day. It's so easy, and safer than the stove top with two little boys underfoot.
I've been wearing out my food processor lately, after 8 years of cooking finally having it has been a lifesaver!
These days, I think my blender is my favorite. In the winter, it's my cast iron dutch oven.

I love my rice cooker. I use it everyday.
I love my immersion blender. Works great.

Uhh... right now, it feels like the dishwasher. But most likely, it's the mason jar. Storing things, making dressings, storing other things (in the fridge or cabinet), etc.
Well, that would be my pots and pans. I cook every day as I love cooking!
Thanks for the great giveaway!

The most used utensil in my kitchen is (well, I don't know what you call it, but) like a collender spoon. It's metal and has a lot of holes in it for scooping up corn, green beans and other veggtables without getting all the juice. I also use it for making my girls roman noodle lunches for my girls...they love the flavor, but don't like a lot of juice with it.
This is a great contest!!!!!
