Turns out those plastic lids at your local coffee shop are some of the dirtiest items at restaurants. Period. We won't go into what's been found on them (just in case you're reading this while drinking from one), but let's just say you'll want to start bringing your own travel mug immediately.
Luckily, there's one designer dedicated to finding a way to make those disgusting, yet convenient, lids more sanitary.
Bill Levy has designed a sticker that covers the part of the lid you drink from, making it instantly more sanitary while using only as much material as necessary. We can only hope that we'll be seeing these on our coffee cups soon.
