Mulled wine is wonderful, and I'll never pass up hot apple cider, but the most delicious winter drink will always be a good cup of hot chocolate. This year Dominique Ansel Bakery — best known for the Cronut — is making your cup of hot cocoa extra special with the addition of blooming marshmallow flowers.
In London, Tokyo, and New York, Dominique Ansel and his team are serving patrons what they're calling a "Blossoming Hot Chocolate." It's basically a delicious, rich cup of hot chocolate that's topped with a marshmallow flower that "blooms" when it hits the hot beverage. Pretty ingenious, right?
Dominique Ansel debuted this cozy beverage in Toyko earlier this year in April, and it was wildly successful. So much so, that they brought the idea to New York a couple weeks ago and also to the recently opened London location.
The Tokyo location has stepped up their game recently by playing around with new flavored marshmallows that bloom into different colors. These new menu items have yet to hit the other bakery locations.
