I am thinking of purchasing a wine journal but I am having a hard time picking one. I keep finding journals that have sections about how to taste wine but I’m really just looking for a journal to write notes in. I really want one that I can put labels in. Do you have any advice?

Here are five handmade and indie journals we found through Etsy. The first one is by far our favorite! But we also think that pretty much any pretty, wellmade blank book could serve as a good wine journal. Just pick one with sturdy pages that will hold up well under pasted labels.

• 1 Reusable Gray Felt Cover w/ Wine Log Insert, $22.50 at Concepcioun. We love the grey felt here; very classy and durable. And it has a removable insert, so you can fill it up then file it and start over. There is room for a label, and rather good note sections.

• 2 Writing Journal - Bottles, $16 at EHL Creations. The simple approach: a lined journal with wine bottles on the front.

• 3 Good Wine Bad Wine Printable Sheets, $7 at Design 365. An inexpensive option: printable template sheets with room for a label, and plenty of space for notes. Buy a cute binder then fill with these sheets, printed as you need them.

• 4 Wine Sketchbook/Jounal, $10 at Blank Paper Ninja. A vintage approach, with a reclaimed cover from an old book, and just blank pages to fill as you wish.

• 5 Wine and Cheese Journal, $8 at Small Square Design. Letterpressed cover, blank pages, and gives you the option of some cheese with your wine.
