Rosé Wines for Spring: Eight Pretty Picks

2009_04_13-rosewine.jpgHow beautiful is that photo? We wish we could recreate it for a happy hour, like, tonight. The article, from Gourmet, is about eight good bottles of rosé that provide a nice transition into spring. This snippet sums it up:

Their cheery pink hue puts the fridge in a party mood, damn the lack of green vegetables; their flavors are just rich enough with red fruit to take the edge off a cool night while they have the bright, sense-awakening snap of spring’s first sunny days.

Our only complaint is that the least expensive bottle on the list is $14. We think there's got to be a good one for $8 or $10. We've mentioned a Toad Hollow Pinot Noir Rosé (around $10) in this roundup of good spring wines. Who's got another suggestion?

For something under $10, I'd recommend Red Bicyclette: http://redbicyclette.com/wines.asp?v=ROS it IS good with thai food, just like they say.

I'm very partial to french roses........they are the best! :~)

Roses from the Loire and Provence are the best, they're never sweet, just refreshing!
