There's a new wine shop downtown: The Greene Grape. The shop, whose Brooklyn location was named one of Eric Asimiov's new favorites for hands-on shopping last year and New York Magazine called a "shop for the enlightened drinker," features wines made by "individual producers with integrity, skill and pride."
They have great hours (noon - 9 P.M. Sunday - Wednesday, noon - 10 P.M. Thursday - Saturday), and they deliver. There is always a bottle open to taste in the shop, and of course they will be holding special tastings.
This Thursday from 5 P.M. - 7 P.M. they are having a "Wedding Wine" tasting: three whites, three reds and a bubbly all intended to please a wide range of palates and all under $15.
