The television show will feature Gourmet's editor-in-chief Ruth Reichl traveling to various cooking schools and seeking out new recipes and food adventures.
In the premier episode, Reichl is joined by actress Frances McDormand for a trip to Blackberry Farm in Tennessee where they explore fly-fishing, beekeeping and Southern recipes. She'll bring along other famous friends in later episodes, including Lorraine Bracco, Dianne Wiest, Tom Skerritt and Jeffrey Wright.
The first 10-episode season is complete, and production is reportedly moving forward on a second season, as well as a fourth season of Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie.
Gourmet's Adventures with Ruth debuts Saturday, Oct. 17 in select markets (sadly, Chicago isn't one of them, so we won't be able to tune in just yet). Is it airing in your area? Will you be watching?

I'll definitely watch. Especially, because the show is on Public Television. I support public TV and since I refuse to get cable, food shows still seem fun and fresh.
