These classic baskets painted with English roses by French artist Redoute or loaded with Wedgewood china are just some of the few options available from the Picnic Hamper Shop.

I love the idea of picnic hampers and actually have a classic version myself, with the china plates, silverware, etc. I hardly ever use it though, because it can be very heavy when carting it to a proper (romantic?) site when fully loaded. How often do other people use a picnic hamper and do they have problems with using them?

I seem to have a collection, because my brother buys them at yard sales and gives them to me for Christmas. They can be cumbersome to carry, but are fun for "show off" picnics. Like going on a romantic picnic to a fancy public garden or concert. though, at the art museum John Hiatt concert Friday, they confiscated my bottle of porseco and my wine glasses from my plastic cooler.
