Video: How To Peel Garlic - Two Ways
One Minute Tip

We're returning to our series of quick, 1-minute kitchen tips. Because, after all, while we'd all like to brush up on our knife skills, who has time to watch a video longer than 60 seconds or so? So here's 60 seconds of demonstration from our own Emma Christensen, showing us two ways to peel a clove of garlic.

Do you have another way to peel garlic? Care to share it?

this brings up another good question...what's the best thing to wash your hands with after working with garlic so you don't smell like it the rest of the day?

Just as quick, and without any crack/ crush: hold the clove with the thumb and index fingers of both hands, and twist hands in opposite ways a few times. Only the skin cracks. And honestly? It took longer to write about it than to do it.

@wendy-rae Just add some vinegar to the water. I don't come from a land of poached eggs, but I've never ruined one :) Good luck!
