Tip: Save Your Milk From Scorching

2006_05_10-scorched-milk.jpgHow many times have you set a pot of milk to warm on the stove top, walked away for what seems like 5 seconds, and come back to a boiling, scorched mess? Don't worry, it happens to us all the time.

We recently learned a tip that might save you from scorching your milk, or at least buy you a little more time: before heating the milk, rinse the pan with cold water and leave it slightly wet. Then heat over a medium-low flame.

It won't allow you to step out and strike up a conversation with the neighbors, but you might just be able to turn your head for a just a moment without returning to find a scorched mess across your stovetop.

Thank you! This happened to me nearly every time I tried to warm milk!
