Cut tea box clutter in your kitchen by tossing the boxes and using jars for your tea bags. We have a jar for caffeinated tea, and two for decaf with a plus and minus, respectively, made from electrical tape. It keeps the octane of what we're drinking clear. Works with coffee grounds, too.

Where do you get the jars from? :)

I've often thought about doing this but wondered if the specific tea tastes would get muddled being with the others. specifically herbal teas - would a ginger tea bag pick up the flavor of a raspberry bag?

They're called canning or Ball jars, and they're available just about anywhere -- even Wal-Mart, of all places. They're easiest to find in summer, but regular grocery stores tend to carry them year-round.
Flavored or aromatic teas should not be stored together, because the flavors and scents will indeed intermingle. Regular teas can be stored together, though purists tend to store each variety separately, because each type of tea has its own distinct character. Purists also tend to keep most of their tea in closed, opaque storage containers, with just a small amount in an "everyday" container, to keep most of the tea from being exposed to light and air, which causes it to go "stale" much more quickly.

I find the tea boxes beautiful, most of the times.

Yeah, I'm one for keeping flavors separate, so this would not cut down on clutter for me.

the jars that classico pasta sauce come in are nice and reusable too...mason quality, much better than any of the other brands with thin lid tops that only do a half turn...
