We found the perfect serving piece the other day — right before a big party, too! It was a big platter, gently curved enough to hold a chopped salad, but open and flat enough to still be called a platter. The best thing about it? It had handles!

I found this at World Market and I already love it. The handles give the platter a slightly more casual look, but they're genuinely functional. When it's loaded up with sandwiches or steak, it's easier to handle and carry; I'm less afraid it will slip out of my hands.
• Find it: White Oval Serving Platter, $14.99 at World Market stores (not available online)
This platter isn't available online, though, so here are a couple other handled platters look equally appealing.
• Find it: Rectangular Platter with Handles, $59-$70 at Williams-Sonoma
• Find it: Oval and Round Platters, $12.95-$14.95 at Crate & Barrel

Love these! Must check out the Crate and Barrel ones ASAP!

Rachael Ray has a line of oven to table baking dishes with handles. I always thought they were great, but I didn't like the colors. These look very similar, without the safe-to-bake-in feature.

I bought the Crate & Barrel ones and returned them because I found the angle of the handles too awkward. But I have giant hands so maybe someone else would be a perfect fit. Gotta try those World Market ones!
