How would you like to see these Tree Mug/Star Mugs on the holiday table? Star and tree shapes appear in these mugs when they're full for an unusual festive look. $40 for a set of two at MollaSpace.
What do you think - cute, or over-the-top?

This is a hard one -- while I'm ideologically opposed to holiday-specific dishware (our kitchen cupboard space is of the "four plates - four cups - you're done now" variety), the fluted exterior shape of the star mug is really grabbing me.

They look cute but that tiny little footprint makes me vote Not. This is a spiller. Fussy, spilly glassware is no fun when you've got a lot of people running about. If you plan to spend your holiday in solitary splendor, this might be a very nice.

I'm concerned about cleaning all those corners. Seems like it would be a pain. And it's definitely tippy too.

looks cool - also looks hard to drink out of and/or clean

$20 per mug? That price seems a bit inflated to me. Maybe I'll consider them "hot" after Xmas when they go on-sale.
