Some tableware goes beyond pretty to prompt new ideas of delicious things to put inside. These footed dessert cups from Crate and Barrel do that for me. I love desserts in individual servings, and these are the perfect size. They are spacesavers too, since they do double duty as mugs or coffee cups.
These are microwave, dishwasher, and, best of all, oven safe. I am picturing baked pumpkin pudding, with a crackly brûlée crust, or individual servings of hot fruit compote with crème anglaise. They are on sale, with a set of six for $9.95, or they can be purchased individually for $1.95.

Do you have a recipe for baked pumpkin pudding? It sounds amazing. All of a sudden I'm excited for Thanksgiving. I always like to do something different than just pie for dessert (last year I made Bradley Ogden's pumpkin bread pudding).
