Good Product: Eco Ware

2008_06_11-EcoWare.jpgWe love these biodegradable dishes made from 85% bamboo (with some coconut and rice by-products) by artist Tom Dixon.

Here at The Kitchn, we believe in sustainable food as well as sustainable household objects (when possible.) These sturdy and stylish dishes have a shelf life of 5 years, and can be composted back into the earth when they start to degrade, which is a neat idea - no more waste going in landfills is always a good thing.

Set of 4 bowls, plates, or cups for $49.99 - get them here.

they aren't disposables folks. i mean, they aren't fine china or anything, but they're meant to be used for a while. how many plastic tumblers to you have? how many of them will last forever in a landfill? how much does the earth have to pay for you to have cheap plastic tumblers?
