Coffee Cup of the Day: Color Wheel Mugs

2008_01_28-Mug.jpg

These mugs from Anthropologie have one feature that would usually disqualify them from our household collection of coffee cups, but they redeem themselves so well in other ways that they've become our favorite morning mug...

We usually only like cups with real handles, handles that our whole hand can fit through. These, however, have a thumb-sized loop of a handle that forces you to cradle the whole mug in your hands. We actually like this now, as the top band of stoneware is wide and it warms hands on cold mornings as you cradle your cup.

These mugs also hold the perfect amount of morning coffee, for us, and they come in a whole array of bright and cheering colors.

Color Wheel Mugs, $5 at Anthropologie. Online and in stores.

I have these cute mugs in Red. They are perfect for a limited space kitchen (and match up perfectly with my Staxx Dinnerware. I think they are the cutest little things but the ceramic gets really hot and burns hands rather than warming them on cold mornings. I suggest getting them anyway for bootleg-style cocktail drinking!

amen picturesinink! while they're cute, they're also basically un-useable for us with hot bevvies. i want warmed hands not burnt!

Last weekend, these were on sale at the Anthropologie in Boston for $1.79 each! I picked up 8 of them. They do get a bit hot, but I'm still able to use them for hot drinks.
