Children's Dinnerware by Kate Spade

2006_05_09-kate-spade-dinne.jpgWhat doesn't she design?

We originally saw these animal images hanging in Kate Spade's store in SOHO when my husband snapped a photo of some paintings (it was the octopus and squirrel, not pictured here) and made his own versions in black ink as a gift to me. He asked the shopkeepers who was the artist. They didn't know.

Well, someone knows, because Kate Spades first collection of fine china for children is out, and it brings these image up to the high chair and on little porcelain dishes. Her graphic three-piece sets, in whimsical, colorful patterns, include an 8-oz. cup, a 7" plate, and a 6" cereal bowl, and cost $75. Call 866-999-5283 for stores since we don't see it on www.katespade.com

Those are really adorable, but $75 for china for a kid, who will most likely oops, drop it off the table. Yikes, the pain and suffering each time it happened or almost happened would be too much for me.
