When the weather gets cold and the days shorter, I love to light candles for the dinner table, even if it's just an everyday, mid-week meal. And even (or especially) when it's just me and my plate of pasta. How about you?

I should qualify my vote and say that we light candles every night in the non-summer months. A set of tapers live on our dining table, so it's not hard to light them. However, if we have the A/C on, it blows wax everywhere, so we take a break from the candles when it's hot.

I rarely eat by candlelight - because I'm saving the candles to cook and wash up by! My kitchen lights have died a catastrophic death... :(

Ah, nothing like being raised by a fire marshal. Gives one a paranoia about candles.

I like to see my food and whether or not the meat is cooked. I hate eating in restaurants with dim lighting. At home I may light a couple candles on occasion, but there is also some other source of light.

I never think about it, but if I did, I would do it more often!
It really sets a mood.
