Survey: Here Come the Napkins

2006_12_12_napkins.JPGPaper napkins with your name printed on them are usually reserved for blushing brides and gracious grooms.

Must this be in the case? The fashionistas over at Domino magazine recommend customized napkins and matchboks from Foryourparty.com for the holiday home (100 luncheon napkins for $29). What do you think?

Seriously, is this for those awkward occasions when you forget your host's first initial? If you're at that point, maybe it's time to call a cab and sober up.

Is that why they do it at weddings -- for drunks forgetting names? C'mon. I thought it was for a little pomp and circumstance.

They're a little extravagant but the presentation is beautiful. And you know what they say about presentation...

I might considering doing this for my own birthday party, but for any other occasion I think it's too self-centered (and pointless). The party should be for the guests, not all about the host.

That entire spread in Domino was tacky and awful. I generally like their work, but good god, a white plastic tree and fast food on china?

Your phone number would be more chic. Or maybe your pet's name.

i think the monogram thing is fun and tongue in cheek when paired with fast food though i would've gone with the entire monogram not just an initial. a great quote would also be a way to go.
