Walking past a window display at Williams-Sonoma can make you think you need your microplane to match your pot holders. And while we don't encourage willy nilly consumerism for the sake of a uniform kitchen, it does make sense — especially with all those lovely shades of KitchenAid mixers out there — that you'd gravitate towards a favorite color when you shop.

My kitchen is heavy on the pink including the quintessential pretty in pink KitchenAid, pink cooking utensils, kitchen towels, food scale...it goes on and on. Still hoping for that elusive Pink Le Creuset dutch oven to miraculously appear though :)

I have tried to limit myself to primary colors in the kitchen.

I try to buy the best tool for the job within reason, regardless of the color... If I have color choices I go with white or red.

My kitchen is a little color-coordinated. I do try to keep the linens, pot holders, and rugs in a similar color scheme, but that's about it. It's apparent that I lean towards green in all of my rooms. I would like to brighten things up though...most of the colors are very sedate and neutral.

I have gone with black or stainless steel for my small appliances, I rent so I am stuck with the white appliances, and blue for my le creuset and everything else is bright and colorful. I figure it is easier to change out the towels and utensils when I want color then to change out the big stuff.
I know I will never love my black kitchenaid as much I as I would the ice blue one, but I also know I'll never get sick of the black one.

I have a friend who works at Kitchenaid's HQ and apparently they have stand mixers in every color imaginable on display in the lobby.
Most of my kitchen accessories are orange or turquoise. But when I get a stand mixer, I'll probably get stainless steel. I do have a lot of white small appliances but that's because most of them are inherited from my mother, whose ideal kitchen color is white.

I have a white and stainless thing going for big stuff and my accessories are generally white, green, with a little bit of gray, brown and black. I would get a white blender and a green mixer. I like white Le Creuset and serveware.

I wanted a "citrus" feel for the kitchen, so while it's not all color coordinated, there's definitely a running theme for the key items.
