Lunchtime Survey: How Many Cups of Coffee Do You Drink Every Day?

2008_02_01-CoffeeCup.jpgOK, truth time. How many cups of coffee do you drink every day? We used to think that 2-3 cups was barely enough, but then we switched to just one really good cup. When it's cold outside, though, we tend to drink more just so we can wrap our hands around a steaming hot coffee mug all morning long.

A note about our straw poll below: We count 6 ounce cups as a cup of coffee, so if you're drinking those giant travel mugs full every day, we would count it as at least two cups!

Ack! Can't vote. It's 5-6 cups a day for me.

I lied. I do drink one cup in the morning but it is definitely NOT a "good" one. The coffee at my work is horrid.

i drink 3-4 (6-oz) cups of good coffee, but it has nothing to do with sleepiness; rather, it has everything to do with happiness.

My main squeeze makes us lattes in the evening - with decaf. I'm usually a tea drinker, so I really can't handle the high-test stuff.

Man, I can never vote on anything outside of AT...

I always at least drink 1 cup (which is really the equivalent of 2.5 cups ) of coffee a day. Sometimes two, depending on how I'm feeling, how early I had to get up, or if the company is paying for a Starbucks run. :)

Hmm - can't vote? Can anyone experiencing this give more info/detailed bug report? We keep thinking it's fixed...

Sparkle brings up a good point. My 1-2 "cups" are big-a** cups, so I would at least double them.

3 is my maximum, because I have self-imposed rule not to have coffee after noon, except for the rare time I make a coffee drink.

(Voting is also disabled for me. I didn't know that others have this problem. I usually do at work, where I use IE, but not at home, where I use Firefox.)

I would drink coffee all day, but too many cups upsets my stomach. I drink about 2-3 cups (normal sized 8 oz cups) a day, usually in the morning, and then switch to tea the rest of the day.

I alternate between a cup of coffee or tea in the morning. I have an occasional espresso in the afternoon if I need something to boost the energy reserves.

I used to have just one big cup of stovetop espresso in the morning(half of a 6 cup moka), and it did me all day. Then I had a baby. I've since come to really appreciate the 4:00 coffee...without it, I wouldn't get any work done at night.

I'm with BareFootRooster. I get happy just smelling good coffee. I get don't drink coffee after a good meal out because I have GREAT coffee at home and that way I can make sure it's fresh and hasn't been sitting on a burner getting cooked!

I usually have about 2-3 cups - but my cups are big! I have a couple oversized mugs that I love. Also, count me in with the group that prefers to make their own - I know mine is fresh and hasn't gotten that burnt taste from sitting on the heat too long!

Its 2-3 with some espresso mixed in there. It's only gotten *worse* since Intelligentsia came to town...I used to have my own espresso machine but then it stopped producing good shots, so I'm back to coffee. I love to watch the vacuum coffee that is made near SantaMonica/Centinela, it's like watching a chemistry experiment in action!

I can't vote either, but I usually have about 2 cups of work coffee (*le sigh*), and sometimes I'll pick up a latte on my way home.
