We break from our usual Hot or Not survey format to bring you a series of objects to help you set your Valentine's table (or not, as the case may be). And as in the classic genre of grade school love-notes, we ask you on behalf of our daily pick: Do you like me? Check yes or no.
Here's the Candle Carver we've seen everywhere lately ($9.99 at Kitchen Kapers). It punches a tealight-sized hollow in a piece of fruit for a natural votive. Would you use one of these?
Another tip for homemade romantic lighting, below...

this reminds me of the avocado slicer - it's an appliance easily replaced by one you already have in your home. you know, a knife.

A total waste in two ways: one of storage space, and another of a perfectly good piece of fruit.

I put apples with candles in them on every table for my wedding...it really does work perfectly decently just to use a small icecream-style scoop to make the holes for votives. And the scoop sure is more useful in my kitchen now than such a unitasker would be.
(Also, the florist was going to want $5/apple or something like that. No! We bought the apples at Costco, and the guests ate them off the tables as they wished.)
