Bedroom Month: Eating in Bed?

2007_02_23-Tray.jpgIt's Bedroom Month over at our home sites, and while we have largely ignored that here we just couldn't let February go by without a single mention.

Eating in the bedroom - Do you do it? More specifically, do you eat in bed? We don't like crumbs and have a bad knack of knocking entire glasses of water into our laps. And yet that doesn't stop us from indulging, from time to time, in a bedside snack. Maybe a cookie and a book. Or a piece of cheese and some fruit late at night when we're too tired to get up but too hungry to sleep.

And yet some things are off limits - anything needing cutlery, for instance, including soup and complete meals. What about you? Eating in bed? Yes or no?

I eat in bed, snacks or full meals. I have two roommates, and sometimes after a long day of work, I just want the privacy of my own room.

I never eat in bed. I think its gross, lol. I don't even watch tv in bed. I have found to get a good's night rest, I need to use the bedroom for sleep and sex. I don't even read in bed anymore.

I eat in bed only when my kids bring me breakfast (once a year? twice?)--it's mostly inconvenient, but I'm not going to tell them not to.

Totally eat in bed. Popcorn and a movie in bed is a major delight.

I don't think eating in bed is particularly gross or not gross, I just don't really ever do it.

Our bedroom is pretty much strictly sleeping/sex/getting dressed, so there's not much reason to eat in bed. When I'm sick and watching movies, I have soup in the living room with a blanket, and it's just more convenient and comfortable to me to eat in the kitchen.

Last summer we ate almost every meal at home either on our bed or the front steps. We had just moved in and it was very hot. The only air conditioned room was the bedroom, so when it was too hot outside, we ate on the bed.
