London's Guardian newspaper ran a thought-provoking article last month asking local food pros to share their thoughts on what makes a perfect picnic...

The article has plenty of tempting British-influenced suggestions, from poached fish to roasted potato salad to chilled soup and twice-dipped chocolate strawberries -- and includes tips for picnic wine and snacking on wild meadow greens.

La Brea Bakery roasted garlic bread, fresh berries, brie with mushroom in it, a bottle of red wine, and hard german salami! Simple food that is not totally utensil-dependant :) And delicious, of course!
