How do you store your kitchen utensils? I have my ever-increasing stash of wooden spoons, whisks, spatulas, and mixing paddles stuffed into a big jar next to the stove. I like having these tools near to hand, but the shorter whisks get lost in the bottom, and the tall spoons seem to take up too much space. So I found this organizer from Umbra a rather refreshing idea.
There are five connected cylinders, from 2" to 4" diameter, and from 4" to 7.5" tall. Overall size is 6.5" x 8" x 7.5". This seems useful for organizing different sizes and heights of kitchen utensils - even silverware and serving spoons.
I won't exchange my nice big jar for this, but if I was setting up a kitchen from scratch I might go for it.

hmmm... that may be the perfect solution to my ever-growing kitchen stash. right now i've got them jammed down the throat of a too-narrow stainless steel utensil holding contraption that might hate ME more than i hate IT.

Hmmm, I actually really like this. It looks practical, rather than simply gimmicky and design-y.

Might actually work in the bathroom as well.

Yeah, if I had any counter space in my bathroom I'd scoop this up. For my kitchen utensils, I wonder if it might be too tall/narrow for some of the big-headed things I have (spatulas, fish turners, whisks). And with the chubby handles on my skimmer, masher, and whisks, etc., I'd still need another container. I think it's a great idea/design, although I wonder how often it would need to be washed to keep the inevitable debris from looking grimy inside.
I love my utensil holder that my husband got for me from Wal-Mart. It's black plastic. Every time I consider replacing it with something fancier I realize that I'd lose so much in function: It's a tall, wide open interior, about 5 inches in diameter, and around it is a short row of spaces, each segmented off. The outside edge of the short row flares out just a smidgen, leaving plenty of space for the short whisks and spoons to breathe. And the whole thing spins.
Empty, it looks like something for the garage, and I know I'd never have picked it myself. But it works perfectly, and when it's full, all you see is a squat matte black bowl.

i like the idea of it, and the look of it, but the footprint is too large. i have my utensils in three crocks, that i can move around as needed. I have utensils divided as such: wooden utensils and whisks, metal and plastic utensils, and spatulas/scrapers. This works really well for me.

I think it looks nice, but it looks like it would probably would take up a lot of precious counter space. But I can imagine it would be great for other applications besides just in the kitchen.
My most-used utensils are stored in antique blue mason jars on my counter.
