We've talked about our all-time favorite kitchen products from IKEA, and we've spotlighted a few new things that might become favorites. Now here's one newish thing that has become our very favorite recent buy from IKEA: a simple bottle.

We love the look of these simple, classic stoppered bottles, perfect for storing water in the refrigerator, or serving lemonade and iced tea to guests. We even stuffed a few lime and lemon slices into bottles of ice-cold water for a Mother's Day luncheon (it took some work to get them out of the narrow necks, but it was worth it for the pretty effect).
The bottles look like the classic bottles often used in Italian and French restaurants for water and other beverages, and now we almost always have one or two in the refrigerator with chilled water. They also might be very good for storing finished kombucha (see kombucha-making instructions here). Best of all? They're very inexpensive -- just $2 apiece.
Have you tried these yet?

Every time I've gone to ikea, they've been out of stock.
I thought they would make lovely containers for flavored vinegars and mustards for homemade gifts. One of these days maybe I'll get lucky.

My friend gave me a few of these and my husband and I made limoncello and have been storing it in these bottles. They work well and are airtight.

I'm taking a trip to IKEA this week to pick out some things for my new apt and am definitely putting this on my list!!! Very cute.

I love these bottles. I bought a few a while ago to use as water bottles for myself. They are too large for the car drink holders though.
Recently I bought a bunch more to use for iced tea. I now brew up a big batch of iced tea on the stove and ladle it into the bottles with a funnel. My husband can quickly and easily grab a bottle of iced tea. He has gotten a few odd looks when taking these plain unlabeled bottles into the office with the pretty amber colored brew in them.

Over the last couple years, I've found that bottles from Lorina lemonade are perfectly reusable after a good wash to remove the labels (which peel off easily) and provide a similarly lovely bottle with stopper. For $1-2 more, it will save a trip to IKEA in favor of supporting your corner bodega!

Why not buy the French Lemonade at Trader Joe's or World Market and get the drink and the bottle?

I do the same as tartan frog and FantasticMrFaux. I have three bottles from the Lorina lemonade that I have washed and keep filled with water in the fridge. It's the perfect way to have chilled water on the dinner table. It is completely green and very hygenic. I love them. I will probably be picking up a few more to fill with ice tea, lemonade and other summer goodies.

Most any home brewing supply shop can set you up with these for a similar price (typically sold under the "EZ-cap" brand), or you can go down to your local beer shop and pick up a pack of Grolsch for a little more (the bonus to this: not only do you get the cool bottles, but you also get beer in them!)

Oh - these are 34oz. In that case, that's not a bad deal at all. 32oz. EZ-cap bottles usually run a bit over $3 each.

I like your thinking. :)
$2/bottle at IKEA is definitely a great option for anyone who's not near TJ's, WM or any place that would not carry a beverage in these types of bottles.

I use these for brewing beer-- they're wonderfully airtight, and they make a nice presentation when I give brewed beer as a gift. You just have to store them in brown bags during the carbonation process as they are clear and that can effect the quality of the beer.
I've never found bottles this size for this price at local brewing stores-- Ikea is the way to go!

This is the best Ikea kitchen device ever. I purchased 3 and had to return the next day because I needed more! Also great for storing homemade vinegar since a generic pour spout fits perfectly on top.

Cute - they're like clear grlosch bottles.

I'm with tartanfrog. I buy the lemonade or whatever drink I want that comes in one of these bottles, then wash off the labels and reuse. I have several bottles of water in the fridge like this and a few more for other drinks.

I've been using La Mortuacienne artisanal lemonades bottles for years. They are pretty, with adorable stopper and if you don't like the label - I DO - you can always strip them off...

i plan on picking up about 20 of these to decant wine into for our wedding (because really, we don't have the time to drink 20 bottles of french lemonade). we'll end up saving a lot of money...

I just brewed some dandelion wine (a first for me) - I put them in recycled wine bottles but currently are capped with cling film...this is soooo much better....must get to ikea now - hopefully they will be in stock.

I make my own vanilla extract and use these for it.

i use the lemonade bottles mentioned above for bottling beer as well.
Even though someone has said they used these before for beer, I would warn against it. Any bottle that is not specifically designed to hold carbonation should not be used to bottle beer. The seal can fail and the bottle can explode.
I use the carbonated lemonade bottles because they have held carb before. Grolsh are fine since they obviously work with beer. But yeah, anything not designed to hold carb, should not.

Just exactly how did you get the lemons and limes out?

I use the Lorina lemonade bottles too! They're also super cute as a vase. I put one long stemmed flower in, leaving the lemonade label on.
