Countertop Storage: Prepara's Pop Savors

2009_08_14-Pop.jpgMany of you store your salt, pepper, and other frequently-used ingredients on the countertop. We love having our nutmeg grater, sugar bowl, and a couple other staples within easy reach. If you're thinking of getting a salt pig or sugar bowl for your own countertop, here's one to consider: the cleverly-designed Pop Savor from Prepara.

2009_08_14-Pop02.jpgThese little containers have ceramic bases but silicone tops that snap up and down at the press of a finger. They hold up to 1 cup, and they include a little ceramic spoon that snaps into the back.

In theory at least, we like the design of these little salt pigs or pepper cellars. It's nice to have a lid that doesn't need to be pulled off and placed somewhere else on the countertop. And even with the lid popped up it protects the contents of the jar from dust and stray food.

• Find it: Prepara Pop Savor, $19.95 at Amazon

Faith, this is at least the second or third time you've shown something for the kitchen that I've never seen before, and that is pretty amazing :) These are cool! Thanks!

p.s. how about that ice cream pint sleeve?

I LOVE this! The only reason I haven't gotten a salt pig is because I don't want it open all the time! Now if the white came with a white/clearish top.

Ooo, I love these! I have a dish of salt on my stove but it often gets crumbs in it. This would be a great solution.

Thanks splatgirl! Do you mean that Prepara pint sleeve? It's pretty cute!

Also, I think this does come with a white top; it just wasn't in these photos. Try here.

Those are pretty amazing. I've been usuing a bowl until I find my one true salt pig. These look like they might be for me, but I really want one that's a literal pig.
