Cool Recipe: Liz's Elderflower Champagne Cocktail
Stay Cool!

2009_08_18-Germain.jpgName: Liz
Location: Brooklyn, New York
How are you staying cool? This cocktail tastes like vacation, a refreshing respite from the August heat. It's champagne stirred with St-Germain, a delicate French liqueur of elderflower blossoms. The starry white flowers are said to be picked in the Alps and gathered by bike. It tastes of pear and lychee and lemon, the sweetness cut by the bubbles and cool cucumber.

Elderflower Champagne Cocktail
Fill a tumbler with ice. Fill three-quarters of the glass with dry champagne or prosecco. Add thinly sliced cucumber and fresh mint. Top off with St-Germain.

What a gorgeous photo, sounds delish, will look for that elderflower that you keep writing about.

I got hooked on sparkling wine St. Germain at Epcot's Chefs de France restaurant, of all places. So delicious and refreshing!

what I don't get is how you got the stream of liquid to pour out in a curve as shown in the photo above.

A raspberry or blackberry at the bottom of the champagne glass is a pretty addition to this cocktail.

bncampbell:

I bought St. Germain about a month ago at the Liquor Mart in Boulder, if you ever find yourself up that way...

Ah, I'll check that out, k_mw. But anyone know where I can find the elderflower/berry concentrate in Colorado?
